PM Consulting Group Sponsors CYEP “Golf & Stogie Classic”

On October 8, PM Consulting Group (PMCG) sponsored the Capital Youth Empowerment Program (CYEP) “Golf & Stogie Classic.” The event was held at the Potomac Shores Golf Club in Dumfries, Va.

Designed to raise money for and promote the philanthropic work of CYEP, the tournament attracted numerous players and was a huge success.
CYEP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a vision to create equitable opportunity and upward mobility for underserved and low wage populations. CYEP’s mission is to promote life-long learning and economic empowerment for minority, underrepresented, and low-wage populations through social, educational and workforce skill development.
PMCG’s sponsorship of the tournament is a key part of our philanthropy. Being a responsible corporate citizen is important to us and we strive to give back to our community.
  • Project 52 – PMCG CEO Walter Barnes III is Board Chair for Project 52, a transformative company that has trained over 100 people in the Baltimore region, giving them access to a career in green technology. The group has also provided 30-megawatts of solar projects that will produce 40,000megawatt-hours of clean energy for 2,500 middle- and low-income households.
  • Virginia Tech Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity – PMCG is involved with this organization to attract/recruit more minority students to the Virginia Tech engineering program.
  • Trees for The Future – PMCG supports this organization that seeks to end poverty and hunger by helping farmers regenerate their land through the planting of trees. This helps give nutrients to the soil while providing more food.
Besides financial support, PMCG also provides a generous quarterly flex time policy for employees to volunteer at various events. This includes organizations such as the Capital Area Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity.
